SUMMARY:From Volunteering to Belonging – Building Social Sustainability

 te to a socially sustainable society?Social sustainability is about creati
 ng communities where people feel included\, connected and valued. One powe
 rful way to strengthen this is through voluntary engagement.During this ev
 ent\, we explore how volunteering can create belonging\, reduce loneliness
  and build bridges between people from different backgrounds. Through pers
 onal stories\, we highlight how engagement not only benefits society but a
 lso brings meaning and well-being to the individual.Two active Interkultur
  volunteers – a couple from the USA and Sweden – share their experienc
 es of being involved in activities such as language cafés and intercultur
 al meeting spaces. They will reflect on how volunteering engagemang has sh
 aped their lives\, created new connections and deepened their sense of com
 munity in Lund.We will also present Frivilligkraft\, Lund municipality’s
  platform for voluntary engagement\, and introduce the different ways peop
 le can get involved.The event concludes with an open dialogue\, inviting p
 articipants to reflect\, share thoughts and ask questions about volunteeri

  week serves as a platform for bringing together ideas\, raising public aw
