Biodiversity and the future of mankind - EU Nature Restoration Regulation

Biodiversity is essential for human life. The EU has adopted a plan to save biodiversity in Europe, which is an important part of the European Green Deal. Welcome to a seminar where experts will discuss the EU Nature Restoration Regulation, and what significance it has for Sweden, Skåne and Lund.
The EU Nature Restoration Regulation is the first comprehensive law of its kind to be implemented across the entire continent, and all member states are obliged to follow it. The law is a key component of the EU Biodiversity Strategy and the European Green Deal. At Sweden's request, the plan, which serves as the basis for the regulation, was presented during its presidency but was later voted against by the Swedish government. A majority of the member states, as well as many experts, believe that implementing the concrete actions outlined in the plan is urgent. Europe's natural ecosystems are in rapid decline, with over 80% of habitats in poor condition, and the remaining biodiversity is under constant threat.
